The International Primate Protection League (IPPL) has been working tirelessly since 1973 to expose and combat primate abuse worldwide. As a grassroots nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to protecting the world's remaining primates, both great and small. Our mission includes operating a sanctuary for gibbons, the smallest of the apes, in South Carolina.

In addition to our sanctuary, we support primate rescue efforts globally, particularly in regions where primates are native. We provide advisory and financial assistance to activities that promote the well-being of monkeys and apes, both in the United States and overseas. We also grant financial aid to primate rescue centers and grassroots advocacy groups.

Our core focus is on publicizing the plight of abused primates, organizing international protest campaigns, conducting investigations into illegal primate trafficking, and offering compassionate care at our South Carolina Headquarters Sanctuary to gibbons who have escaped from cruel and exploitative situations.
