## Description

IRIS is the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs, which coordinates the Armament Industry European Research Group (ARES Group). Established in 2016, the ARES Group aims to foster strategic thinking and innovation in the European armament community. Comprised of security and defense specialists from various European universities and think tanks, the group provides a platform for top experts to develop policy proposals, conduct studies, and publish insightful publications. ARES Group offers a range of publications, including short opinion pieces, medium-format policy papers, and lengthy reports, which are all freely available on their website. These publications provide a cross-eyes approach to various subjects, as they are collaboratively written by two or more experts. Additionally, the ARES Group organizes two annual seminars in Brussels and Paris, where they discuss and present the material produced by the group. Overall, IRIS and the ARES Group play a crucial role in shaping the European armament industry through their expertise and collaborative efforts.
