Iris Kirby House is committed to providing a safe haven for women and children experiencing domestic violence. Our shelters, including the St. John’s site and the Carbonear site, offer emergency shelter, child and family services programs, mental health programs, outreach services, and much more.

Our dedicated staff is available 24/7 to offer nonjudgmental support and help women explore their options. Beyond physical safety, we also assist with income and housing needs, offering advocacy and support to ensure a smooth transition out of the shelter. Our cooperative living environment fosters a supportive community for residents, and our various programs cater to individual needs.

Established in 1981, Iris Kirby House is government-funded for daily operations and shelter maintenance, with generous donations providing additional support.
