## Description

Islapedia is a comprehensive online encyclopedia dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of California's Channel Islands. Sponsored by the Santa Cruz Island Foundation, Islapedia serves as an invaluable resource, featuring over 18,230 pages of digitized records and 10,831 images, with extensive coverage of the eight primary California Channel Islands: San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, Anacapa, San Nicolas, Santa Barbara, Santa Catalina, and San Clemente.

This extensive platform includes detailed entries on more than 2,000 notable individuals connected to the islands, historical events, shipwrecks, and significant geographical locations. With contributions from cultural anthropologist Marla Daily and collaborative efforts spanning five decades, Islapedia also houses rare manuscripts, diaries, and 19th- and early 20th-century references. As an ongoing project, Islapedia invites users to explore the narratives of those who shaped the islands' past, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of these unique landscapes and their histories.
