## Description

The International Ski Mountaineering Federation (ISMF) is the premier global governing body for the sport of ski mountaineering, established in 2007 and based in Lausanne, Switzerland. With recognition from the International Olympic Committee since 2016, the ISMF represents 56 national federations across five continents. The organization's mission encompasses the governance, development, and promotion of ski mountaineering, a dynamic sport that blends endurance, technical skill, and alpine adventure. Featuring various competition formats such as Sprint, Vertical, Team, and Individual races, the ISMF continuously collaborates with national federations, athletes, and partners to establish comprehensive pathways for athletes, from grassroots levels to elite competition. Following its Olympic debut in Milano Cortina 2026 and inclusion in the Alpes 2030 Games, the ISMF is positioned to further elevate the sport's profile. Through sustainability initiatives and a commitment to inclusivity, the ISMF shapes a promising future for ski mountaineering, fostering a deep connection with mountain communities and the environment.
