ISRA

The Illinois State Rifle Association (ISRA) is dedicated to supporting and protecting the rights and freedoms of all citizens as outlined in the Bill of Rights under the United States Constitution. With a rich history dating back to its founding in 1903, the ISRA's mission remains steadfast. They aim to preserve and protect the rights of hunters to possess and use firearms for sporting purposes, while promoting conservation and safe sport hunting as crucial wildlife management tools.

Additionally, the ISRA assists in promoting rifle practice firearm safety and marksmanship training in collaboration with the Civilian Marksmanship Program, the State of Illinois, and its Department of Natural Resources. The association also focuses on promoting good fellowship and sportsmanship, preventing unsportsmanlike conduct, and supporting the planning, construction, and preservation of civilian shooting ranges. Through education and advocacy, the ISRA ensures citizens are informed on matters related to lawful firearm use and possession, firearm safety, self-defense, competitive shooting, and sport hunting.
