## Description

The Israel Exploration Society (IES), founded in 1913, is a premier scientific organization dedicated to fostering archaeological, historical, and geographical research related to the Land of Israel. Established by scholars and leaders of the Jewish yishuv, the IES aims to promote education and preservation of Israel's rich heritage. Over its history, the society has organized numerous significant archaeological excavations, including prominent sites such as Masada, Hazor, and Jericho, contributing greatly to our understanding of ancient civilizations.

As a non-profit entity, the IES collaborates with both Israeli and international institutions, providing financial support and expertise for research projects. It publishes several scholarly journals, including the peer-reviewed Israel Exploration Journal and Eretz-Israel, showcasing groundbreaking studies in the field. Members benefit from subscriptions, exclusive discounts on events, and access to the society's extensive publications.

The IES remains a vital player in the archaeological community, striving to engage the public and promote awareness of Israel's archaeological heritage through various programs and events.
