Throughout Japan, there are various social issues threatening the safety and happiness of citizens, such as industrial decline, natural disasters, healthcare and welfare problems, and childcare and education issues. Recognizing the intrinsic essence of these problems, issue+design utilizes the power of design to bring harmony and order. They appeal to people's hearts through beauty and empathy, effectively creating movements that bring happiness to society. Their ultimate goal is to solve social and community issues with the creative power of citizens, thus realizing a society in which people can live with peace of mind. They possess the ability to grasp the essence of the problem and propose substantive designs that can make a difference. It is the power of citizens that can save other citizens. Their mission is to become a collective of innovators for the future and happiness of each region. They invent various solutions for the challenges faced by communities, including Can Do Badges that support the operation of evacuation centers during disasters, Parent-Child Health Handbooks that contribute to resolving various issues related to modern parenting, Community Travel Guides for resident-led community tourism, and Regional Future University for nurturing talent to address local government challenges. By solving the diverse challenges faced by communities and paving the way for their future, they aim to achieve a happy life for everyone. They subsequently share these designs with Japanese society as a whole. As a nonprofit organization, issue+design aspires to become a collective of innovators for the future and happiness of different regions in Japan.
