## Description

ITARdD, the Italian Harm Reduction Network, is an association bringing together professionals, people who use drugs, organizations and local authorities to promote, support and defend harm reduction in Italy. It strengthens the field by sharing expertise and professional practice, encouraging project development, supporting research, providing information and raising public awareness. The network also fosters exchange with European and international networks and scientific communities, and contributes to the international movement for drug policies grounded in human rights and public health.

ITARdD promotes harm reduction as an approach, a set of policies and a range of programs and services designed to reduce the social, health and economic harms associated with legal and illegal psychoactive substances. Its work focuses on limiting risks and harms rather than on preventing consumption alone, and recognizes the needs of people who use drugs, their families, their support networks and society more broadly. Through campaigns, news, meetings, conferences and research initiatives, ITARdD shares ideas and experiences across the sector.
