## Description

**Arolsen Archives - International Center on Nazi Persecution**

Arolsen Archives, located in Bad Arolsen, Germany, is the world's largest archive dedicated to the victims and survivors of the Nazi regime, recognized as a UNESCO World Documentary Heritage site. The institution contains records for approximately 17.5 million individuals, including documentation on various victim groups, forced labor, and displaced persons post-1945.

Founded in 1948 by the Allies as the International Tracing Service, Arolsen Archives plays a vital role in documenting and clarifying the fates of those persecuted by the Nazis. It addresses around 20,000 inquiries each year regarding the struggles of victims and provides extensive resources for researchers and educators. The Archives strive to promote awareness and understanding of the Holocaust and its implications through innovative digital projects, such as #everynamecounts, which encourages community participation in creating a digital memorial.

With a commitment to education and outreach, Arolsen Archives continues to be a crucial resource for families, academics, and anyone seeking knowledge about this dark chapter in history.
