## Description

İTÜ SAVTEK is an interdisciplinary student club at Istanbul Technical University, founded by students in the fall of the 2008–09 academic year. It focuses on defense technologies and describes itself as Türkiye’s first and largest student club specializing in the field. The club aims to support students’ technical, social, and cultural development, encourage research, raise awareness of the Turkish defense industry and defense technologies, and strengthen cooperation between universities and industry.

SAVTEK connects students with the defense sector through events such as Savunma Teknolojileri Günleri, which brings together major defense-industry organizations and students, and the Defence-Up summit, featuring companies with entrepreneurial roots. The club also shares educational articles and updates through its website, with topics including electronic warfare, naval vertical launch systems, and aviation history. Its activities combine industry engagement, learning, and discussion, offering students opportunities to explore defense technology and connect with organizations working in the sector.
