## Description

The Walloon Institute for Evaluation, Foresight and Statistics (IWEPS) is a public scientific institute that supports decision-making by public authorities in Wallonia, Belgium. Appointed the region’s statistical authority in 2016, it is part of Belgium’s Interfederal Statistical Institute and National Accounts Institute. IWEPS conducts research and evaluations, develops forward-looking analysis, and produces statistics, indicators and studies to inform public policy. Its work covers subjects including the economy, education, energy and the environment, employment, mobility, health, population, inequality, gender and regional development. The institute makes its findings available through reports, research papers, briefings, videos, events and a regular podcast. Its online resources include WalStat, a portal for local statistics on Walloon municipalities, districts and provinces, as well as indicators on access to fundamental rights, well-being beyond GDP and sustainable development. IWEPS also shares economic outlooks, regional data and guidance on prospective analysis, helping public bodies and the wider community explore social and economic trends and understand issues shaping the region’s future.
