IYWT, short for It's Your World, Travel!, offers an exciting and immersive short-term exchange program. Spend part of your summer with a family abroad, experiencing a new culture firsthand. Then, open your home to a teenager from that family and create an enriching international bond.

Alternatively, you can choose to join a special camp with teenagers from around the world in a foreign country. As a participant in the short-term Rotary Youth Exchange program, you'll embark on a life-changing journey for 3 weeks to 3 months. Through this program, you'll gain a sibling, discover new ways of doing things, and broaden your perspective through exposure to different learning methods.

You'll also have the opportunity to forge lifelong friendships with people from places you never knew existed. The program is facilitated by Rotary Districts, which establish connections with both your host family and their local Rotary counterparts. They guide you through the process of contacting the host family, making travel arrangements, and negotiating travel dates and airlines.

To participate, ensure you have a valid passport that will be valid for at least six months beyond your trip. If you don't have a passport, apply now! Additionally, complete the short-term travel form once you and your host family have established communication, obtained passports, and settled on travel dates. Most short-term exchanges only require the visa waiver program for entry into the host country.

However, for Australia, Brazil, and India, US citizens will need to obtain a tourist visa. IYWT will provide instructions and support in this application process. You will also need a valid passport and a parent permission form.

Scan your passport and send it to IYWT during the travel process, and submit your parent permission form to your IYWT coach. To ensure a smooth exchange, IYWT will assist you and your counterpart in arranging flights to travel together. Share your travel itinerary with your Sponsoring Rotary Club Rotarians and Rotary in your Host Country to ensure a coordinated experience.
