## Description

Jardin des Epoques e.V. is a German cultural association dedicated to preserving and sharing Europe’s historical heritage. Founded in 2012 by enthusiasts with decades of experience in historical dance, the organization brings the past to life through museum activities, public events, workshops and seminars. Its presentations span Antiquity, the Middle Ages, the Renaissance, the Baroque and the Gründerzeit, offering visitors varied ways to encounter history.

The association’s specialist groups explore historical dance, literature and performance, period clothing, dining customs, fencing, gladiatorial traditions, naval history, ceremonial gun salutes and other subjects. Its private gladiator school introduces historical combat practices and their cultural context. Jardin des Epoques places particular emphasis on authenticity: costumes, weapons and other replicas are made with reference to historical examples, and period-appropriate materials and techniques are preferred.

By combining practical participation with historical interpretation, the association aims to make cultural heritage accessible and meaningful across generations. Its activities support a deeper understanding of Europe’s past and encourage the continued preservation of the traditions, objects and knowledge that connect it to the present.
