Description
JACCC, the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center, is a brand that weaves Japanese and Japanese American arts and culture into the fabric of our communities. Located in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles, JACCC is committed to providing a vital place for people to connect and build connections between different cultures. Through inclusive programs and authentic experiences, JACCC nurtures the next generation of innovative artists, culture-bearers, and thinkers.
The JACCC campus features a stunning outdoor sculpture and plaza designed by renowned artist Isamu Noguchi. The campus also includes the Aratani Theatre, George J. Doizaki Gallery, Toshizo Watanabe Exhibition Center, and the state-of-the-art Toshizo Watanabe Culinary Cultural Center.
These spaces serve as venues for programs, performances, and exhibitions that celebrate Japanese and Japanese American traditions. JACCC is not just a cultural center but also a part of the community, with more than 20 nonprofit tenant organizations operating on-site. It is deeply rooted in Little Tokyo, one of the few remaining historic Japantowns in the United States.
JACCC's mission is to preserve and pass on Japanese and Japanese American traditions to future generations, and to connect with the vibrant urban fabric of contemporary Los Angeles
