## Description

The Jackie Robinson Foundation, established in 1973 by Rachel Robinson to commemorate her husband's legacy, is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for minority college students. As one of the nation's leading scholarship and leadership development programs, the foundation aims to address the achievement gap in higher education. Their mission extends beyond scholarships, as they also strive to inspire and challenge the public through the opening of the Jackie Robinson Museum in New York City in 2022. The Jackie Robinson Museum chronicles the remarkable life and legend of Jackie Robinson, an iconic figure in sports and civil rights history. Through this museum, the foundation preserves his legacy by showcasing his achievements and the ideals he embodied. In addition to their scholarship program and museum, the Jackie Robinson Foundation receives generous support from sponsors and donors, including a recent $1 million grant from Wells Fargo. By providing access to higher education and honoring Jackie Robinson's enduring legacy, the foundation continues to make a significant impact in empowering future generations.
