## Description

JACK Quartet is a renowned and Grammy-nominated string quartet that specializes in performing music by 20th- and 21st-century composers. They curate and present diverse programs that encompass a wide range of musical styles from both established and emerging artists. With each performance, JACK Quartet aims to create transformative experiences that encourage audiences to listen with their hearts and minds. Since their establishment in 2005, they have been introducing experimental chamber music to audiences worldwide, performing in venues such as classical music halls, art galleries, and even bars. They are committed to commissioning new music and collaborating with composers to bring their compositions to life. JACK Quartet is also dedicated to dismantling traditional classical music pipelines for composers through their JACK Studio program, which offers residencies, commissions, readings, and recordings. As the Quartet in Residence at The New School in New York City, they also teach at various music festivals, conservatories, and universities. The quartet comprises violinists Christopher Otto and Austin Wulliman, violist John Pickford Richards, and cellist Jay Campbell, who have been praised by The New York Times as our leading new-music foursome. They have a prolific catalog of commissions and recordings and have been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards. The quartet has an ongoing collaboration celebrating John Zorn's 70th birthday and is known for their exceptional interpretations of his music. JACK Quartet's performances extend beyond the United States, with notable appearances at venues worldwide and collaborations with top composers. They have an innovative and experimental approach to music, and their dedication to fostering new works and supporting composers is evident through their JACK Studio program. Through this initiative, they offer selected artists paid opportunities, mentorship, and resources to develop new works for string quartet. JACK Quartet's recordings are highly regarded in the field of new music, and they have received critical acclaim for their performances at prestigious venues and festivals globally. Their commitment to innovation and adventurous programming has earned them numerous honors and accolades. Overall, JACK Quartet is a trailblazing ensemble that pushes the boundaries of classical music and engages audiences with transformative and mind-broadening musical experiences.
