## Description

The Verein Jagdgebrauchsspaniel e.V. (VJGS) is a German breeding and working-dog association devoted exclusively to the Spaniel as a hunting dog. Founded in 1984, it brings together active hunters who breed, train and handle Spaniels, with the aim of preserving the working ability of these longstanding hunting breeds. The VJGS is affiliated with the Jagdgebrauchshundverband (JGHV) and the Verband für das Deutsche Hundewesen (VDH/F.C.I.), and is the only club recognized by both that maintains a studbook exclusively for the hunting-focused breeding, handling and assessment of Spaniels.

The association’s breeding program serves German hunting needs and covers English Springer Spaniels, Welsh Springer Spaniels and English Cocker Spaniels. It provides information about litters and puppies, breeding requirements and pedigrees, with puppies’ pedigrees carrying the JGHV emblem. The VJGS also organizes breeding and performance tests, including assessments of dogs’ natural abilities and their practical hunting skills, and awards performance distinctions. Members and interested visitors can find examination schedules, event announcements, reports, forms and breed profiles.
