## Description

Jamie Watts is a runner, writer, and professional communicator based in the Washington, D.C., area. Living with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy, which affects her balance, coordination, muscle tone, and leg strength, she began running in 2012 to improve her health and prepare for a trip to Italy. Since then, she has taken on ambitious racing goals, completing dozens of road races, multiple half marathons, and her first marathon, the New Jersey Marathon, in 2018. Her personal blog shares the realities of training, racing, injury, nutrition, and perseverance, offering an honest account of the challenges and milestones behind each finish line. The site also features Jamie’s story and media coverage, including interviews and appearances that highlight her achievements and inspire others. Alongside her running and storytelling, Jamie brings 15 years of experience writing, speaking, and organizing events on diversity, inclusion, and human resources for corporate clients, federal agencies, and nonprofit organizations. Her work connects athletic determination with communication and inclusion.
