## Description

The United Nations Association for UNHCR is Japan’s official support organization for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the UN agency dedicated to assisting refugees. Its role is to help sustain UNHCR’s work by connecting people in Japan with opportunities to contribute. The association encourages individuals to support international refugee assistance through donations and fundraising, emphasizing that each person’s contribution can help support refugees and their future. Through this public-facing support effort, it invites people to cooperate with UNHCR’s activities and take part in providing assistance to those displaced from their homes. The organization’s message centers on the value of individual support and its connection to UNHCR’s broader humanitarian work. For people in Japan who wish to contribute to refugee aid, the association serves as an official channel for supporting the UN agency’s efforts. Its work is focused on raising support for UNHCR rather than presenting itself as a separate refugee assistance agency.
