## Description

The Jordanian Astronomical Society, established in 1987 in Amman, is one of the oldest astronomical organizations in the Arab world. Founded by the late Abdul Rahim Badr, the society aims to promote astronomy and science through various programs and community engagement. Under the leadership of its current president, Ammar Al-Saqji, the society organizes a range of activities, including public observations of celestial events, lectures, and workshops tailored for both enthusiasts and the general public.

One of the society’s key initiatives is the monthly publication "Al-Thuraya," which provides updates on astronomical news and activities. It frequently hosts events, such as meteor shower observations and scientific conferences, fostering interest in celestial phenomena. The society also collaborates with international organizations for significant astronomical research projects. Whether you are a seasoned astronomer or a curious novice, the Jordanian Astronomical Society offers an inclusive platform for exploring the wonders of the universe.
