## Description

Silva ry is a Finnish association promoting knowledge and use of continuous-cover forestry, a way of managing forests without clear-cutting and keeping them continuously wooded. The association shares information grounded in research and practical experience, and brings together forest owners and forestry professionals who want to take nature values into account. Its work supports forest management that can balance timber production with biodiversity, carbon storage, landscape and recreation.

Through its website, Silva offers articles, educational materials, a forest calculator, news, statements and an archive. It also organizes webinars, events and peer-learning activities, and publishes guidance on what continuous-cover forestry involves and how forest owners can get started. The association explains how management choices can be adapted to owners’ goals, forest conditions and stand structure, and encourages seeking advice from experienced professionals when planning. Silva also provides a network for forest partners and practitioners, and invites people to become members and support a broader shift in Finnish forestry.
