## Description

The Jacksonville Genealogical Society, Inc. Since its inception in 1968, the Society has been committed to promoting the study and exploration of family history. Governed by a dedicated Council consisting of elected officers and committee chairpersons, the Society offers a range of services and resources to its members. Membership meetings, held on the third Saturday of each month (except December), provide the opportunity for members to come together and engage in informative programs or listen to expert speakers. The meetings are open to the public, welcoming individuals who share an interest in genealogy. In addition to meetings, the Society also conducts spring and fall classes, an annual seminar, and offers various resources such as the JGS library, publications, and newsletters to aid members in their genealogical research. The Society also undertakes projects such as indexing and lineage charts. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced genealogist, the Jacksonville Genealogical Society is here to support and guide you on your journey to uncovering your family's history.
