He holds a BA in economics and political science and an MA in political science from LSU, showcasing his diverse background.
Jay gained recognition as the runner-up on Season 11 of Food Network Star in 2015, and he even had his pilot show, Deep Fried America, air on the Travel Channel in 2016. Additionally, he emerged victorious in an episode of Beat Bobby Flay in 2019 after challenging the Iron Chef to a crawfish boil. Jay's talents have been showcased on popular shows like Chopped, Cutthroat Kitchen, and Masterchef.
He has been invited twice to cook at the prestigious James Beard House. Alongside his television appearances, Jay has explored various ventures, including blogging, radio, digital media, barbecue sauces and seasonings, wine, coffee, tacos, catering, and pop-up dinners. He is also an acclaimed author, with his cookbook Jay Ducote's Louisiana Outdoor Cooking being published in Fall 2020.
