## Description

JazzAscona is a vibrant annual festival celebrating jazz and the rich musical heritage of New Orleans, held in the picturesque town of Ascona, Switzerland. Known as one of the world's premier jazz events, JazzAscona draws enthusiastic crowds who appreciate its diverse and original program set against a stunning backdrop. Each year, the festival features around fifteen concerts daily, showcasing an eclectic mix of musical styles, including New Orleans jazz, swing, blues, R&B, gospel, and soul.

A highlight of the festival is “The New Orleans Experience,” which offers a cultural celebration through live performances by prominent musicians and delectable tastings of Louisiana cuisine. Since 2022, all concerts and workshops have been free to the public, enhancing accessibility to this extraordinary musical gathering—excluding the Music Hours requiring a small consumption fee. Moreover, the festival honors talent with the Swiss Jazz Award and recognizes notable musicians from New Orleans with the Ascona Jazz Award, creating a dynamic fusion of music and community spirit.
