## Description

John Beck is the pen name of Jonathan Beck, a French-speaking writer and advertising professional whose work blends dark humor, cynicism, literary references, and accessible explanations of everyday topics. Describing himself with deliberately irreverent wit, Beck writes for readers who enjoy sharp, unconventional perspectives and a touch of absurdity. His website brings together humorous columns, literary reviews, videos, quotations, photography, and explorations of French expressions, including their origins and modern meanings. Beck’s published books include Testament d’un joyeux dépressif, his 2017 debut novel, as well as Le vilain petit connard, Nouveau testament d’un joyeux dépressif, and Dernier testament d’un joyeux dépressif. The novels follow the character Jean Backer through comic, often bleak reflections on life, while the collection Le vilain petit connard gathers columns, observations, and biting humor. The site also shares news about Beck’s appearances at book fairs and cultural events, alongside updates and opportunities to follow his work through social media or subscribe by email.
