## Description

The Jewish Cemetery Association of North America (JCANA) is an organization dedicated to the sanctity and continuity of Jewish cemeteries. Its mission is to honor ancestors and safeguard sacred burial grounds for future generations, helping prevent abandonment and support the perpetuity of Jewish burial practices in accordance with Jewish law and custom.

JCANA raises awareness about the importance of preserving Jewish cemeteries and provides resources related to cemetery sustainability and management. It serves as a clearinghouse for information and support, bringing together people and organizations with shared responsibilities for these burial grounds. Members can connect with one another through the JCANA forum, participate in discussions, and receive helpful insights through the members’ mailing list.

The association also offers membership, promotes a Code of Ethics, and hosts events to support its community. Its executive board includes representatives from Jewish cemetery associations, memorial parks, burial organizations, and related groups across North America.
