## Description

JCB Co., Ltd. is a major Japanese credit card company and international payment network headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, founded on January 25, 1961 — Japan's only international payment brand of domestic origin. Since its foundation, JCB has been committed to providing customers with convenient and attractive products and services, pioneering credit card payments in Japan, and in 1981 became the first international payments brand from Japan to go global. Today, JCB serves approximately 175.5 million cardmembers and is accepted by about 71 million merchants across over 160 countries and territories. Key global alliances include the Discover Global Network for acceptance in the United States, American Express for coverage in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, and UnionPay for use in Japan and China. Underpinned by its strong data science capabilities, JCB is transitioning into a true tech enterprise through hyper-personalized AI-powered services, while maintaining a robust premium card portfolio.
