About
Description
Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute (GVJCI) is a non-profit community center offering a diverse range of classes, services, and programs for individuals of all ages in the South Bay of Los Angeles County. Established over 50 years ago, our mission is to create a space to engage, share, and embrace the Nikkei experience and culture. GVJCI provides classes and programs for seniors, non-senior adults, and youth, while also serving as a home for various community organizations that cater to different generations of Japanese Americans.
Our range of activities includes smartphone and tablet classes, Japanese Language School programs, a Heritage Center, and a meditation class. We also host a TANOSHII Fun Camp and offer a Seniors Bento Program. We value collaboration, inclusivity, integrity, learning, Kansha, and respect, and aim to create a welcoming space for all individuals interested in Japanese heritage and culture.
Our logo symbolizes the bridging of generations, reflecting our commitment to serving the best interests of the Japanese American community. Embracing the term Nikkei, we seek to provide a vibrant and thriving community for all in the South Bay
