## Description

Jeff Garvin is a multifaceted author, podcaster, and musician based in Southern California, celebrated for his contributions to young adult literature. His acclaimed debut novel, "Symptoms of Being Human," has received numerous accolades, including a selection as an ALA Best Fiction for Young Adults and recognition as a Lambda Literary Award Finalist. His subsequent work, "The Lightness of Hands," continues to impress, named a Junior Library Guild selection and praised by New York Times bestselling authors. 

In addition to writing, Jeff co-produces and hosts "The Hero’s Journey" podcast, which explores the themes of literature and film through the framework of Joseph Campbell’s monomyth. With a background in acting and music—having toured as the lead singer of a rock band—Jeff brings a rich blend of creativity to his endeavors. He holds a BFA in Film from Chapman University. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys performing in an 80s cover band, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and cherishing moments with his family and pets.
