## Description

The Johns Hopkins University Cannabis Science Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research group of faculty and staff focused on understanding the behavioral pharmacology of cannabis and its constituents. Through rigorous preclinical studies using experimental animal models and clinical research involving human laboratory studies, the lab investigates how cannabis and cannabinoids affect behavior and health.

Its work addresses cannabis regulatory science, health effects, and cannabis use disorder. The lab aims to produce evidence that can inform public policy, cannabis product regulation, conversations between patients and providers, and the prevention and treatment of problematic cannabis use. It also seeks to answer other important questions about cannabis and cannabinoids, supporting better-informed clinical and regulatory decisions.

The laboratory’s purpose is to expand knowledge and help people through research, rather than to offer cannabis products. It welcomes support for urgent, groundbreaking, or otherwise underfunded research through tax-deductible donations. Based at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, the Cannabis Science Laboratory also shares its research through publications and engages with media inquiries.
