## Description

Jikalahari, or Jaringan Kerja Penyelamat Hutan Riau, is a forest-protection network based in Riau, Indonesia. The organisation focuses on safeguarding forests and peatlands, addressing environmental damage, and advocating for the rights of local and Indigenous communities. Its work includes monitoring forest and land fires, reporting hotspot data, examining corporate concessions, and calling for transparent enforcement of environmental laws. Jikalahari also raises concerns about air pollution, deforestation, land conflicts, and the governance of forests and natural resources.

Through its website, the network shares news, analysis, opinion pieces, media coverage, infographics, audio and video recordings, and databases on policies, concession areas, and hotspots. It publishes books, magazines, studies, briefs, reports, and annual reviews, providing information for public awareness and advocacy. The site also features educational activities and updates on Jikalahari’s programmes, leadership, and member organisations. Based in Pekanbaru, Jikalahari works to promote responsible forest management, protect environmental defenders, and encourage policies that support a healthy environment and sustainable communities.
