## Description

Jim Butler Days is a community celebration held in Tonopah, Nevada, honoring the area’s mining heritage and the story of prospector Jim Butler. The event brings residents and visitors together for history, entertainment, and hometown activities, with its 55th annual celebration and Nevada State Mining Championships scheduled for May 18–26, 2026. The program features a craft and vendor fair, a Dave Stamey concert, a Jackie Boor book signing, and the Jim Butler Stampede Rodeo, alongside the mining competitions. Visitors can find event schedules, championship results, and lodging information through the event’s website. Jim Butler Days also shares the local legend of Butler’s 1900 discovery of valuable ore near Tonopah, which helped spark a mining rush. The site recognizes the volunteers, participants, sponsors, performers, community members, and visitors who make the festivities possible, and thanks Travel Nevada for a video celebrating the event. Jim Butler Days celebrates Tonopah’s history and traditions while inviting guests to return for future festivities.
