## Description

The Journal of Medical Internet Research (JMIR) is the flagship publication of JMIR Publications and a pioneering open-access, peer-reviewed journal focused on digital medicine and health care in the internet age. It covers emerging technologies, medical devices, apps, engineering, telehealth, and health informatics, including their applications in patient education, prevention, population health, and clinical care. The journal serves clinicians, allied health professionals, caregivers, patients, and researchers through readable, applied reporting on the design and evaluation of health innovations. Its publishing program includes original research, viewpoints, literature reviews, and reviews of medical devices and technology applications. Authors may make new submissions available as DOI-assigned preprints and can use portable peer-review reports or transfer papers between JMIR journals. JMIR also supports participatory and open science, including patient involvement in peer review and editorial boards, and encourages publishing study protocols before data collection.
