Jo Bradford is a photographic artist known for her unique and captivating artworks. With a passion for color and light, Jo's practice revolves around capturing the purest essence of color through cameraless photography. She explores the intangible and our increasingly technology-driven world through her work, creating visually stunning pieces that belie the complexity of their creation.

Based in Dartmoor, Jo draws inspiration from the vast elemental landscape around her, as well as her interest in geometric abstraction and color theory. Her process involves trapping colored light directly onto paper through analogue darkroom processing, using a specific set of chemical formulae and light-sensitive emulsions that she has perfected over almost two decades of research and practice. Jo primarily works with experimental cameraless photographic mediums such as luminograms, photograms, and cliché verre prints.

She also explores alternative and historical processes, and even incorporates her substantial stockpile of out-of-date peel-apart Polaroid film into her art. Since her first exhibition in 2000, Jo's work has been regularly exhibited and sold internationally, gaining recognition for its visual simplicity and rich intensity of prismatic color. She has also received grants and awards for her artistic endeavors, including an Arts Council England Grant and an Artist in Residence Scheme at Plymouth College of Art.
