## Description

Joe Cruz is a cycling adventurist, bikepacker, travel writer, photographer, speaker, and professor of philosophy. His work brings together long-distance cycling, thoughtful travel, and close observation of landscapes and cultures. As a route designer, he has created the VTXL, the Green Mountain Gravel Growler beer tour, and the course for the first edition of the Silk Road Mountain Race, along with other routes.

Through his website, Cruz shares bikepacking journals, travel stories, photographs, postcards, and practical reflections on topics such as lightpacking and touring. His writing documents rides and journeys across regions including Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas, with accounts of mountain passes, remote landscapes, local histories, and encounters along the way. The site also features gear and movie content, alongside guides and how-to material for cycling adventures.

Cruz’s perspective combines the experience of a route designer and traveler with the reflective approach of a philosophy professor. His work is for readers and riders interested in bikepacking, cycling routes, travel, and the ideas and experiences that emerge on the road.
