## Description

John Otazu is an artist whose practice explores human truth, identity, beauty, and the limits of conventional thinking. Inspired by his family heritage—tenor Julián Gayarre and sculptor Fructuoso Orduna—he describes an artistic outlook shaped by perseverance, a passion for form and space, and a visceral sensitivity to life. Otazu presents himself as an independent thinker and “designer of ideas,” seeking new languages of expression and art that can create with integrity and dignity.

His work spans painting, sculpture, photography, performance, and intervention, alongside projects he calls “Atrapamiento” and explorations involving artificial intelligence. In performance art, he investigates human behavior in extreme situations; through interventions, he reinterprets the idea of beauty. His “favor X favor” action is described as an artistic initiative that challenges stereotypes. The website also features his philosophy, references, media coverage, and blog, offering visitors context for his ideas and creative work. Otazu’s practice is presented as an ongoing investigation rather than a single medium or fixed style.
