## Description

Costar is a London-based service operated by Uplift House Limited that helps adults find someone to attend the cinema with. Rather than matching people through endless profile browsing, Costar starts with a film screening: members choose a London cinema, date and time they genuinely want, and the service looks for compatible people who selected the same screening. Members can choose one primary screening and up to two backups.

When a potential match is found, each person privately reviews a short profile and decides whether to meet. An introduction proceeds only if both say yes and each pays a £7 introduction fee; cinema tickets are separate and purchased directly from the cinema. Phone numbers are shared only after both payments succeed. Creating a profile is free, and profiles are reviewed before going live. The service is for people aged 18 and over, with mobile verification required before matching. Costar also provides safety information, reporting and blocking tools, account support, and privacy controls.
