## Description

Jonestown Memorial is a living memorial website honoring the family members, friends, and loved ones who died in Jonestown, Guyana, on November 18, 1978. Established alongside the dedication of memorial plaques at Evergreen Cemetery in Oakland, California, during the 40th anniversary observance, the site preserves memories and shares information connected to the community and its history.

Maintained by Jonestown survivor John Cobb, the website brings together resources for remembrance and reflection. Visitors can explore the Faces of Jonestown, organized alphabetically, and browse anniversary pages covering gatherings from the 40th through the 47th anniversaries. The site also features photographs, videos of anniversary events, and a blog with related material. Its content includes photographs supplied by the San Francisco Historical Society and reflects contributions from former members, relatives, friends, and others who helped establish the memorial project.

The Jonestown Memorial Committee, including John Cobb, Jim Jones Jr., Fielding McGehee, and Rebecca Moore, assisted in creating the memorial sites.
