## Description

Projekt Jordanshof is a privately financed, voluntary peatland restoration initiative in Vehnemoor, Lower Saxony. Covering approximately 96 hectares of raised bog, the project aims to restore natural water levels and support the ecological recovery of degraded peatland. Rewetting reduces oxygen exposure in the peat, slowing its decomposition and helping deliver long-term greenhouse gas emission reductions. The initiative also seeks to encourage characteristic bog vegetation, restore habitats for specialized species, stabilize local water conditions, and improve resilience to drought, erosion, and fire.

For businesses, investors, organizations, and private participants, Projekt Jordanshof offers opportunities to support nature-based climate action and document environmental contributions for ESG and CSRD reporting. Its emissions accounting follows DIN ISO 14064-2:2019 and the IPCC Wetlands Supplement, using average water level as the emissions proxy. Monitoring also tracks vegetation, site development, and biodiversity, while independent third-party validation and verification assess the project’s greenhouse gas assumptions. Any resulting voluntary climate contributions are presented as contribution claims, not as compensation or offsets.
