## Description

Jotar Hirti is a historical combat group and martial arts club focused on Viking and medieval fighting. Members train in safe, competitive combat using axes, swords, shields, and spears, exploring different historical styles and approaches. Beginners are initially taught Western-style combat, which requires less equipment, while the group’s broader focus includes both Western and Eastern styles. Historically accurate equipment is not required for training, and newcomers are welcome whether they hope to join Viking or medieval events or simply take part for sport.

The wider Jotar community also includes Jotar Skari, a lively family group of six families, with 14 adults and children. At events, its members create an engaging atmosphere through camp life and cooking over an open fire, tablet weaving, children’s play, singing, storytelling, and trading. The group also offers warrior activities, including armed participants in combat events such as storslag and buhurt, as well as weapon demonstrations featuring cabbage targets. Together, Jotar Hirti and Jotar Skari bring historical combat, community activities, and event entertainment to life.
