## Description

Users enter income and fixed expenses once, then track their shared remaining budget throughout the month as spending is recorded. The app calculates planned savings automatically from income, expenses, unexpected costs, budgets, and each partner’s equal personal allowance.

Shared items—including income, fixed expenses, budgets, and savings—are visible to both partners, while personal balances and spending details remain private, even in total. Expenses are entered manually, so users do not need to connect bank accounts. journest also works offline, with the two phones syncing when they reconnect. Couples can mark estimated bills for confirmation, monitor spending against category budgets, and receive suggestions when a budget is exceeded. At the start of each month, the previous setup carries over automatically, reducing repetitive planning. journest can be used solo before a partner joins by code, link, or QR.
