## Description

**Brand Description:**

Cemetery Data and Photos is a vital initiative dedicated to the preservation and documentation of burial information within Jewish cemeteries, primarily in Montreal. The project aggregates cemetery data and photographs for submission to the Jewish Online Worldwide Burial Registry (JOWBR) at JewishGen.org. Spearheaded by the Jewish Genealogical Society of Montreal (JGS-Montreal), and powered by devoted volunteers, this endeavor serves to connect genealogists and historians with essential burial records.

Visitors can access an extensive overview of various cemeteries and their associated data compilations, which include detailed maps and historical context. While the data is primarily intended for data entry and validation, it also provides valuable insights into the rich heritage and history of the Jewish communities represented. Additionally, ongoing discussions and future projects are coordinated through the society’s Google group, further enhancing the resource's depth and relevance. Cemetery Data and Photos exemplifies a commitment to memory, heritage, and community connection, ensuring that those who have passed are honored and remembered.
