## Description

The Japan Geoscience Union (JpGU) is a public interest incorporated association that brings together organizations and researchers working across Earth and planetary sciences. Its five science sections cover space and planetary science, atmospheric and hydrospheric science, human geoscience, solid Earth science, and biogeoscience, supporting collaboration across a broad range of disciplines. JpGU organizes annual scientific meetings, including joint meetings with international partners, and provides information on events, research opportunities, and community activities. Its publications include Progress in Earth and Planetary Science, the JpGU newsletter, email news, and educational and outreach materials. The Union also recognizes contributions through fellowships and awards, including prizes for research, international engagement, and student presentations. Its activities extend to science education and training, international partnerships, cooperation with external organizations, and the sharing of disaster-related information and scientific statements. JpGU supports member societies and individual participants through committees, science sections, and sponsorship and membership programs, fostering communication and progress throughout Japan’s geoscience community.
