## Description

JPI Climate, the Joint Programming Initiative “Connecting Climate Knowledge for Europe,” is a pan-European intergovernmental initiative that brings together European countries and associated members to strengthen climate research and support climate action. It aligns national research priorities through a jointly agreed Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, coordinates collaboration across borders, and funds transnational research activities that generate useful climate knowledge and services.

The initiative connects expertise across natural and social sciences, encourages interdisciplinary research, and links scientific findings with the needs of policymakers, decision-makers, communities and other stakeholders. Its work aims to address Europe’s climate-related knowledge needs, foster excellent research and infrastructure, develop the next generation of researchers, and promote resilience and sustainability. JPI Climate also supports international cooperation and greater involvement of public and private sectors in creating and applying knowledge.

Its activities include research programmes and joint funding calls, collaborative projects, knowledge hubs, events and forums that bring science, policy and practice together.
