## Description

Julian Newman is a fine artist dedicated to interpreting landscapes with a focus on environmental stewardship. With a rich artistic journey spanning over three decades, Julian began by winning his first art award in 1988 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 1995. Initially exploring children's book illustration and graphic design, he now devotes his talents to painting while integrating his commitment to sustainability into his work.

His art practices combine digital and traditional painting techniques, resulting in captivating digital paintings and acrylic works on paper and canvas. Julian has participated in over 40 exhibitions and has sold more than 40 works housed in national and international collections, including those of La Trobe University and private collectors in France and the US. His creations distill landscapes to their essential forms, reflecting themes of land degradation and exploitation through layered color and structure, ultimately revealing the intricate patterns of our physical environment. Through his art, Julian Newman advocates for a deeper understanding of our relationship with nature.
