## Description

The Jewish Publication Society (JPS) is a nonprofit publisher dedicated to promoting Jewish literacy and self-understanding through books of enduring worth. Its distinctive approach combines high-level scholarship with accessible writing, serving readers across the spectrum of the Jewish community. JPS is especially known for the JPS TANAKH, its authoritative English translation of the Hebrew Bible, offered in multiple formats, including a gender-sensitive edition and a complete audio version. Its catalog also features Bible translations and commentaries, alongside works on Jewish history, philosophy, literature, theology, culture, holidays, ethics, and contemporary issues. Books range from scholarly studies to accessible titles for general readers, children, and young people. JPS supports learning through study guides, customer resources for choosing a Bible, public programs, recordings, and conversations with authors. Its Authors Bureau helps communities invite JPS authors to speak, while its website provides catalogs, information about forthcoming books, and ways to support the society’s educational mission. JPS also offers select biblical and liturgical materials in accessible formats through the Jewish Braille Institute.
