## Description

The Junior Steelheads are Boise’s youth hockey program for players aged 10U through 18U, focused on developing athletes and strengthening hockey in Idaho. Guided by USA Hockey’s American Development Model, the program combines structured coaching and purposeful training with an emphasis on discipline, teamwork, leadership, and accountability. Its goal is to help players grow both on and off the ice while building a lasting connection to the game.

The organization also offers a Female Hockey Initiative for experienced female players aged 10U and older across the Treasure Valley. Designed to complement participation on a player’s existing team, the initiative provides four half-ice development sessions each month at Idaho Central Arena, led by Head Coach Kaitlyn Schlake and Junior Steelheads coaches. The program typically runs from October through February or March, with optional games, tournaments, and other opportunities potentially available during the season.

Junior Steelheads supports its teams and families with season updates, schedules, registration resources, player and parent information, and coaching materials.
