## Description

Judith Finlayson is a food author whose work connects nutritious cooking with health, family, and science. After careers in journalism and political speechwriting, she began writing cookbooks and developed a lasting interest in the benefits of whole foods. Her books and recipes cover a broad range of cooking, including appetizers, soups, meat and poultry, seafood, vegetarian and vegan dishes, grains and legumes, sides, desserts, and gluten-free options.

Finlayson’s recent work explores the Developmental Origins of Health and Disease and the influence of nutrition and experience across generations. In You Are What Your Grandparents Ate, she examines research on how early-life conditions and family history may relate to chronic disease, and how lifestyle choices can affect gene expression and health. She makes scientific findings accessible while encouraging both personal and wider social change. Through her website, Finlayson also shares articles, commentary, interviews, and food-related insights, including material on nutrition, pregnancy, family health, and aging well.
