## Description

Judo Clube da Madeira is a judo club and training school founded on 16 February 1981. As a co-founder and early pioneer of judo in Madeira, the club combines sports training with personal, civic and social development. Its teaching promotes judo’s moral values, including respect, courtesy, courage, sincerity, honour, compassion, friendship and self-control.

The club offers judo classes for boys and girls from the age of four, with training schedules, registration information and pricing available for prospective members. Sessions take place in a 110-square-metre dojo equipped with quality tatami mats. Experienced, certified coaches support participants in learning the sport and progressing from introductory training towards competition.

Judo Clube da Madeira athletes take part in regional and national events, and some have earned selection for national teams across different age groups. The club also participates in training camps, tournaments, youth events and grading examinations. Through its programmes and partnerships, it aims to broaden access to judo in Madeira and beyond, while developing athletes and individuals through the educational qualities of the sport.
